We have good news from India!
This little girl was only able to crawl due to a severe foot deformity accompanied by clubfoot. Dr. Lisca Drittenbass and PD Dr. Mathieu Assal saw her again in January 2024, two years after successfully operating on her, and she is doing much better.
Despite a successful surgery, she was unfortunately not admitted to school, as her disability was still visible. What a disappointment… Since amputation of the non-functional foot—intended for fitting a prosthesis—was not an option for the family, Endolite India Limited found the perfect solution for her case. They designed a prosthesis that spared her from amputation and allowed her to walk normally with it.
We can see her first steps in these photos. Thank you to ISHWAR (International Society for Human Welfare & Rehabilitation) and everyone who contributed to her recovery. We wish her much happiness and success in her future school life.
