NURSE SPECIALIZING IN WOUND CARE AND WOUND HEALING

Christian Riesen specializes in wound care and wound healing. He started his career in 2004 at the Geneva University Hospitals, in the Orthopaedic Infections Unit run by Dr. Mathieu Assal. In 2012, he returned to work with Dr Assal, at the Assal Center for Foot Care and Surgery, accompanying patients throughout their wound healing journey. Working both in the Center and in an ambulatory setting, he nurses all wounds, whether surgical, traumatic or the consequence of a disease.

Description

Presentation

Christian has extensive experience in his field, treating more than 3,000 wounds every year. He also has expertise in the latest wound healing technologies, such as negative pressure wound therapy (NPWT), which has proven effective in recent years. In some situations, he prefers to use less conventional, natural dressings, such as bee honey.

Education

Christian Riesen obtained his nursing diploma from the Geneva School of Health Sciences (HEDS) in 2004.  In 2016, he went on to follow clinical training at the Geneva University Hospitals and specific wound care and wound healing training at the HEDS. He set up a Course on Wound Healing in French-speaking Switzerland in 2013, which he still runs to this day.
