As with other foot fractures, heel fractures are accompanied by localized pain and in some cases, an inability to move or put weight on the foot. X-rays and/or a computed tomography) CT scan are used to confirm the diagnosis of a heel fracture. These injuries affect two bones specifically: the calcaneus, to which the Achilles tendon attaches, and the talus, on which the tibia and fibula rest.
